Below is an announcement from the Wilmington DPW:
WILMINGTON, MA — Please be advised that the Wilmington Department of Public Works (DPW) is advancing with plans to replace a failing culvert conveying Lubber’s Brook under Middlesex Avenue in July of 2022.
The project will require a full closure of both lanes of Middlesex Avenue Route 62 at the culvert location between Jefferson Ave and North Street for a period of approximately thirty (30) calendar days while the culvert is being replaced. It is anticipated that the closure will begin on Monday July 18, 2022, but may vary depending on manufacturer lead times, material delivery, and inclement weather.
During the road closure, all vehicular commuter traffic will be detoured using High Street and Woburn Street, to Concord Street and Federal Street. Heavy truck traffic will be detoured utilizing Interstate 93.
Local residents and businesses will have access to their properties using the detours, although there may be short delays. Please refer to social media and the Town’s website www.wilmingtonma.gov for updates as the construction date approaches.
Please obey the directives of police details, detour signs, and warning signs during all construction operations.
If you have any questions, or require additional information, please contact the Department of Public Works at 978-658-4481.
