WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Memorial Library unveiled its new permanent StoryWalk at Rotary Park in late June.
The library encourages families to get some fresh air and exercise while walking and reading a story together. The StoryWalk begins at the playground, circles the pond, and ends on the opposite side of the field. Each numbered sign contains a page from a book.
Library staff will change out the book seasonally. The current featured book is Explorers of the Wild by Cale Atkinson.
The project was funded by the Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library 2021 Annual Appeal.
The StoryWalk® Project was created by Ann Ferguson of Montpellier, Vermont in 2007 and developed in collaboration with Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalks® are now installed in all 50 states, supporting literacy, health and fitness.
