Below is an announcement from the Wilmington Department of Veterans’ Services:
WILMINGTON, MA — Residents are invited to participate in Memorial Day observances commencing on Saturday, May 28, 2022 beginning at 8am. with the decoration of veterans’ graves at Wildwood Cemetery followed by the decoration of all squares and memorials.
On Sunday, May 29 at 1:15pm. a dedication ceremony will take place of the new flag poles on the Town Common. Two new monuments at Silver Lake — the Leslie Wicks Monument and the Agent Orange Monument — will be dedicated at 3pm. The projects were completed by Eagle Scout candidates Aaron Dancewicz (flag poles); Kevin Stevens (Leslie Wicks Monument); and Brendan Fitzpatrick (Agent Orange Monument).
The Veterans’ Services Department is pleased to announce that Wilmington’s Memorial Day Parade will be on Monday, May 30 at 10am. At 11am, a ceremony will be held at the Wildwood Cemetery to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Residents are encouraged to participate in Memorial Day events and remember all those who have served, and those who have given their life, to defend our freedom.
