Select Board To Discuss Proposed 40B On Nichols Street; Building Projects; Rail Crossing Safety; & More At May 23 Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Select Board meets this Monday, May 23, 2022 at 7pm in the Town Hall Auditorium.

There are some noteworthy items on the agenda, including:

  • The Select Board will recognize the Wilmington Youth Hockey Bantam 1 Team for its championship victory.
  • The Select Board will recognize former Historical Commissioner Gerald Duggan for his service to the town.
  • The Select Board will hold a public hearing for McGovern Hyundai Route 93’s request to obtain a Class I Vehicle Sales License.
  • Consultant Kristen Costa and Attorney Michael Newhouse will discuss an affordable housing proposal (“Baldwin Landing”) at 79 Nichols Street.
  • Town Manager Jeff Hull will announce the appointment of a new DPW Director, DPW Deputy Director, and and DPW Operations Manager.
  • Town Manager Jeff Hull will provide an update on the Nassau Avenue Water Tank.
  • Town Manager Jeff Hull will provide an update on the MBTA Rail Crossing Safety Issues.
  • Town Manager Jeff Hull will provide updates on the Senior Center and Town Hall/School Administration building projects.
  • Town Manager Jeff Hull will provide a memo on Board of Selectmen designees.
  • Town Engineer Paul Alunni will provide an update on the MassWorks project.
  • Town DPW Director Michael Woods will provide an update on ARPA Funding.
  • Select Board member Kevin Caira will provide an update on the Town Hall/School Administration Building Committee.
  • Select Board member Greg Bendel will provide an update on the Senior Center Building Committee.
  • Select Board will receive letters regarding New England Transrail and Wilmington Woburn Intermodal.
  • Planning Director Valerie Gingrich will provide an update on regional housing services.
  • Select Board will receive a letter from KP Law regarding a rate increase.
  • Select Board will consider request of Town Counsel to allow him to represent the town, despite also representing the Town of North Reading, regarding negotiation of a new intermunicipal agreement for regional housing services office.
  • Select Boar to consider request of Tony’s Ice Cream to obtain a hawk & pedle license to sell ice cream.
  • Select Board to consider request of Aaronap Cellars LLC to obtain a Farmers Market Winery License to sell wine at the 2022 Wilmington Farmers Market.
  • Select Board to consider the reappointment of Finance Director/Town Accountant Bryan Perry.
  • Select Board to consider signing letter to Cyrus Paul Rich in recognition of achieving Eagle Scout rank.

The meeting will be televised live on WCTV and www.wctv.org.
