WILMINGTON, MA — The New England Brass Band is holding a special concert on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at 2:30pm at the Wilmington Congregational Church (220 Middlesex Avenue).
Admission is free. A goodwill offering will be taken.
The Band pays tribute to John Williams in his 90th year with arrangements of his “Fanfare for Fenway,” “A Hymn to New England” and “Adventures on Earth,” from the “E.T.” movie! The Band will also present the classic brass band tour de force from the pen of Eric Ball, “Resurgam.” The principal horn, Steven Heldt, will share his silky tones with the apropos Eb Horn Solo “A Time For Peace” and the Concertmaster, Ashley Hall, will present Philip Sparke’s demanding “Concerto for Cornet and Band.”
The New England Brass Band (NEBB) is a national award-winning 30-piece brass and percussion ensemble, adhering to the instrumentation of the “British Brass Band” tradition. NEBB rehearses weekly in Wilmington and draws auditioned volunteer players from Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Maine.
CDs will be available for purchase at the concert.
