OBITUARY: Richard F. Lodico, 77

PELHMAN, NH — Richard F. Lodico, 77, of Pelham, NH, formerly of Wakefield, Reading and Wilmington, MA, passed away unexpectedly on March 18, 2022. 

He was born April 12, 1944, in Somerville, MA, son of the late Michael J. Lodico and Carmaleen M. (Butler) Lodico.

Rick grew up in Wakefield and was a natural entertainer, performing in many local shows where he was known for his love of music and his dancing ability. He graduated from Wakefield High School in 1962 and attended both UMass Amherst and Emerson College, where he continued performing as a drummer and singer in various rock bands.  Rick also served in the Army National Guard in the late sixties as he began his 20 year career working for New England Nuclear and Dupont.  Always the entrepreneur, Rick started and ran several small businesses, including Monograms Plus in the Methuen Mall and Compact Snacks vending.

Rick married his true love, Susan Tabor, in 1988. She shared his love of dogs and during their 34 years together they always had 2 German Shepherds. They loved hiking with them at local, state, and national parks from New England to Florida. Over the years Rick continued to perform, lending his singing and choreography skills to Barbershop choruses and youth groups. He was also an avid gardener and particularly enjoyed eating his homegrown tomatoes. In recent years he enjoyed cooking and watching the Boston sports teams, especially the Celtics.

Rick is survived by his loving wife Susan, his brother Michael Lodico of Exeter, NH, and his sister Joan Henrick of North Fort Myers, FL. He was the proud uncle of Scott, Dean, Diane and Brad Henrick, and Jay Lodico & Dawn (Lodico) Bullens. He is also survived by 5 grandnieces and a grandnephew.

Friends and family are invited to visitation on Saturday, April 9, from 10-11 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11 am at the Carrier Family Funeral Home, 38 Range Road, Windham, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Shadow Fund NE at or to the charity of your choice.
