OBITUARY: Karen J. (Tully) Richardson, 56

TEWKSBURY, MA — Karen J. Richardson (Tully), age 56, of Tewksbury, formerly of Wilmington, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on April 3, 2022, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Karen was born on June 16, 1965, in Malden, MA; she was the dear daughter of the late Gerald “Jerry” and Judith (Green) Tully. Karen was raised and educated in Wilmington, MA and a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1983.

Karen continued her education at Bunker Hill College in Charlestown where she got her Associates Degree in Radiology. Karen worked for many years as an x-ray technician for several hospitals.

Karen married, settled in Tewksbury and began her family; she was involved in whatever her children were doing and taught their CCD classes at St. Williams Church.

Karen enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at the family home on Lake Winnisquam in New Hampshire. She loved to cook, bake and feed her “retail therapy” with her shopping excursions; especially on Black Friday.

Karen was a huge Boston sports fan; she loved watching hockey, baseball, basketball but her favorite was football following the New England Patriots and “her Tom Brady”.

Karen will forever be in the hearts of those she loved.

Karen was the beloved mother of Bradley, Janine and Jason Richardson all of Tewksbury and Daniel Richardson of Derry, NH. Dear sister of Brian Tully & wife Lindsey of York, ME, John Tully of Haverhill, Mark Tully & wife Nancy of Foxboro and Maura Puleo & husband Robert of Deltaville, VA. She was the niece of Rev. Eugene Tully of New Hampshire, formerly of Wilmington, Edward & Eugenia Green of Wakefield, the late Kevin Tully and the late Jack Green. Karen is also survived by her cousin Tanya Green of Wakefield as well as her many nieces and nephews.

Family and friend will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Monday, April 11th for Visitation from 9:30-11:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, at 11:30 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.
