WILMINGTON, MA — At last week’s Wilmington School Committee Meeting, Superintendent Dr. Glenn Brand provided an update on the North Intermediate Principal Search.
The North’s Principal Search Committee met on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 to discuss the search process, and met again on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 to review all applications and determine which applicants would receive interviews.
A total of 19 applications were received. The Search Committee anticipates conducting interviews with approximately 10 candidates on March 29, 2022 and March 30, 2022.
The Search Committee will then narrow the field down to semi-finalists. Site visits to semi-finalists’ districts will be conducted between April 4, 2022 and April 14, 2022.
The next principal of the North will be selected no later than April 22, 2022.
The Search Committee consists of 8 members:
- Andrea Stern Armstrong — Director of Human Resources
- Suzanne Sullivan — Woburn St. School Principal
- Dr. Edward Foster — West Intermediate Principal
- Michelle Gwodz — Reading Specialist
- Samantha Onessimo — Special Education Liason
- Katherine McKenna — Grade 5 Teacher
- Brenda Mangan — Administrative Assistant
- Andrew Falanga — Parent
Current Principal Christine McMenimen is retiring this August, after 34 years in public education, including 15 in Wilmington.
