Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:

WILMINGTON, MA — Alice F. George (Cashman), age 87, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Alice was born in Cambridge, MA, in 1934; she was the dear daughter of the late John and Ann (Chute) Cashman. Alice was raised and educated in Cambridge; and went on to become a resident of Somerville, Stoneham and Wilmington.

Alice was industrious and forward-thinking from the start, ever determined and creative. She met her beloved husband, dance partner and travel buddy in 1958. The two created a home in which their family and friends felt loved and welcomed. Alice opened her heart to many children as a daycare provider, and cherished her role as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. We will miss her dearly, and remember her fondly.

Alice was the beloved wife of the late Alfred F. George, devoted mother of Alan George of Georgia, Paul George & wife Pam of Somerville, Paula George of Wilmington, and David George & wife Joyce of Raynham. Loving and fun “Grandma” of Jennifer & husband Joe, Barbara & husband Josh, Grace, Caroline and great-grandson Owen. Alice was one of ten siblings and is survived by her sisters Ann Grainey and Joan Sheppard; as well as her many nieces, nephews and their families.

Family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial for Alice on Thursday, February 24th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, MA, followed by her interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, 120 Elm St., Stoneham, MA.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Alice’s memory to the Salvation Army, Attn: Development Office, 25 Shawmut Road, Canton, MA 02021.
