OBITUARY: Eleanor (DiGloria) Cirillo, 97

WILMINGTON, MA — Eleanor (DiGloria) Cirillo, affectionately known as “Ellie” died at age 97 at Windsor Place of Wilmington on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.

A graduate of Medford High School, Ellie married the love of her life, the late Anthony “Tony” Cirillo in 1949 in Boston. The couple raised their three children Ann, Elaine and Stephen in Medford and moved to North Reading in 1964.

After raising her family, Ellie became a Real Estate Broker for Kaine and Wentworth Realty in Reading. She loved the real estate business and became very successful in this career receiving many acknowledgements and awards for her accomplishments. Upon retirement Ellie and Tony relocated to Boca Raton, Florida where they enjoyed a very active life. Ellie became the president of the Ladies Social League in their Sandalfoot South community. She planned many trips and activities and she and Tony travelled and cruised to many different places. She had a zest for life and made friends everywhere she went. After Tony passed, Ellie moved back to North Reading to be closer to family. Eventually she moved to Windsor Place of Wilmington where she was a very active member of the assisted living community. She made some wonderful friends there and was truly loved by the care staff.

Ellie leaves behind her daughter Ann and her husband, Charles of North Reading, her daughter Elaine of Whitesboro, NY, and her son Stephen Cirillo and his wife Gail of West Roxbury. In addition, Ellie’s leaves behind seven adoring grandchildren, Erik, Nickolas and Kory Buckley, Jacqueline and Daniel Locke, and Elizabeth and Emily Cirillo. She also leaves six great grandchildren who she loved beyond words; Andrew and Owen Buckley, Noah and Haley Buckley, Kennedy Buckley and Thomas Locke.  Ellie also leaves sister-in-laws Barbara Celata of North Reading and Lee Molinari of Lawrence, along with several other loving niece, nephews and friends. 

Family and friends were invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park Street, North Reading (Corner of Park St. & Rt. 28 at the Reading Line, on Saturday, February 12th from 1 to 4pm.  Immediately following the visitation, a funeral service for Ellie was held at 4:00pm.   Burial will be held privately at a later date. 

At the request of the family, visitors are kindly asked to wear masks.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellie’s Memory to Hospice Services of Massachusetts, 681 Main Street Haverhill, MA 01830.
