OBITUARY: William R. “Billy” Gennetti, 78

WILMINGTON, MA — William R. “Billy” Gennetti passed away on December 29, 2021. He was 78 years old.

Born in Boston, Billy was a resident of Wilmington for over 35 years. He worked for the City of Melrose for many years and was an avid sports fan and builder.

Billy was the devoted husband of Cathy A. (Stanley) Gennetti, his wife of 49 years. He was the son of the late Daniel and Dorothy (Spadafora) Gennetti. Billy was the loving father of Christopher Jones and his longtime partner Jennifer Corvino, Keri Gennetti, Lindsay Richard and her husband Christopher and Michael Gennetti and his wife Erin. He was the dear brother of Barbara Gennetti, John Gennetti, Janice Owens and her husband Ray, the late Daniel Peter Gennette and his late wife Rachel and the late David Gennetti and his surviving wife Nancy. Billy was the cherished grandfather of Christopher Jones, Lily Gennetti, Jack Gennetti, William Cote, Juliana Gennetti, Vincent Richard, the late Luciano Richard and the late Josephine Richard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA on Tuesday, January 4th at 9:00 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (Rte. 38), Wilmington at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, January 3rd from 4-8pm.
