OBITUARY: Donna L. (Sferrazza) Andrews, 70

Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:

WILMINGTON, MA — Donna L. Andrews (Sferrazza), age 70, of Lowell, formerly a long-time resident of Tewksbury, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on December 30, 2021.

Donna was born in Boston, MA, on December 13, 1951; she was the cherished daughter of the late Francis “Frank” and Isabel (Barrett) Sferrazza. Donna was raised and educated in Wilmington, MA, and a graduate of Wilmington High School, Class of 1969.

Donna was the beloved Mom of two daughters who were her pride and joy. Donna’s family was her priority; she showered them with unconditional love and devotion. She was always their biggest cheerleader and supporter of their hopes and dreams. Donna was a proud “Grammy” to her grandchildren whom she adored and looked forward to spending time with. Donna also loved spending time with her parents, siblings, and their families.

Donna worked hard throughout her life. For many years she was a Customer Service Manager for the Rowenta Groupe SEB in Medford where she made many great friends throughout the years. Donna took an early retirement from Rowenta and went to work for her daughter Kristi’s company, The Barkery in Tewksbury. Donna enjoyed working with her daughter, their staff, and the animals; she had a kind and gentle manner with their furry clients and got along well with their owners. Donna was a “jack of all trades” at The Barkery and she loved every minute of it.

Donna loved to travel. She especially loved cruising and was hoping to one day take a 6-month cruise around the world. She was always booking trips and loved to see new places. When she returned from a trip, she would immediately start planning her next vacation. She was pleased that she got to see and visit so many states and other countries. Her favorite place to visit was Alaska, she would always say that the beauty of Alaska was unmatched.

In addition to traveling, Donna was an avid reader. She would read an average of 165 books per year! She was always so proud of the number of books she has read! Donna also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing, puzzles and most especially dining out!

Donna will be fondly remembered for her endearing personality, her sweet nature, and her sense of humor. She treated everyone she met with kindness and compassion. Donna just loved people and they loved her; she will forever be in the hearts of those she touched throughout her lifetime.

Donna was the devoted mother of Heather Leary of Londonderry, NH, and Kristi Andrews of Tewksbury, loving “Grammy” of Kevin Leary and Caitlyn Leary. Dear sister of Paul Sferrazza and his wife Karen and Sandra Langenfeld and her husband John all of Wilmington, the late Wayne Sferrazza and the late Robert Sferrazza. In addition to her daughters, Donna is survived by her estranged husband & friend, Richard D. Andrews of Lowell, her cherished dog Lola, and her loved grand-dog Phoebe. Donna is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Tuesday, January 4th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. A Service to Celebrate Donna’s life will take place at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 5th at 10:00 a.m. followed by her interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tewksbury, MA.
