Below is a press release from Wilmington’s Salem Five Bank:
WILMINGTON, MA — The mission of the Wilmington Substance Abuse Coalition is to address the rising problem of substance abuse in our community by providing prevention, education, and support, as an effort to promote healthy and responsible behavior and provide skills for better decision making as it relates to substance use.
Through the Salem Five Charitable Foundation & Salem Five Bank, Wilmington’s Salem Five Bank will provide funding and resources for programs and projects that are aimed at improving the lives of individuals and families struggling with addiction and those in recovery. Accepting the donation are Samantha Reif, program coordinator and Darrell Mirrione, recovery coach.
This 12-month initiative includes programs that educate and prepare people to access and manage financial resources effectively, create an understanding of financial services and tools, assist individuals and families with gaining valuable skills and credentials that are the gateway to family-supporting careers. From career exploration, training, and placement to programs that encourage the growth and development of small businesses. These programs and projects are designed to help people reach and maintain a level of strength and stability, which create stronger and more productive communities.
Please contact Samantha Reif if you or someone you know needs support or services.
