WILMINGTON, MA — Lisa A. Stanley, age 57, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 7, 2021, at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston.
Lisa was born in Cambridge, MA, on July 18, 1964; she was the cherished daughter of John and Carol (Sylvia) Stanley of Billerica. Lisa was raised and educated in Billerica and a graduate of Shawsheen Valley Regional Technical High School with the Class of 1982.
Lisa’s family was always her first priority; she encouraged them to do their best, she was there to help in any way she could and she looked forward to every moment they spent together.
Lisa will be fondly remembered as a beautiful person inside and out. She showered her family and friends with unconditional love and devotion; she had a heart of gold and was truly one of the kindest people to everyone she met. Lisa will forever be in the hearts of those she loved.
Lisa was the beloved wife of Robert Wilkinson Canning, devoted mother of Samantha Martinello and her husband Robert of Reading, Tyler Canning and his fiancé Madison McKinley of Derry, NH and Mackenzie Canning of Wilmington. She was the loving “Gramma Lisa” of Vincent and Domenic Martinello, dear sister of Scott Stanley and his wife Kirsten of Lowell, Tracy Stanley of Woburn, Gregg Stanley and his wife Jennifer of Dracut, the late John Stanley, Jr. and his wife Nancy Stanley of Wesley Chapel, FL. Lisa is further survived by many special nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends gathered for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Thursday, November 11th from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
