WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Memorial Library recently hosted a virtual lecture entitled “Essex England: Home of the Mayflower.”
Linda MacIver examined the history of the Mayflower and the ship’s connections to the county of Essex (England) including the ship’s captain and signers of the Mayflower Compact. Viewers can follow the 17th century document trail to confirm what we really know about the Mayflower.
MacIver serves as the New England Representative for the Essex England Record Office. She brings a unique perspective to the event that brought ancestors of more than 30 million Mayflower descendants around the world to these shores.
