Every minute counts! Win prizes for your reading and help us beat Tewksbury!

Log every minute you read on Beanstack (our reading tracking app) to lead Wilmington to victory. We also have paper logs available at the library for those who prefer to track by hand. There will be a weekly drawing for a $25 gift card to any Wilmington restaurant of your choosing. Log at least 3 hours of reading and be entered into our Grand Prize drawing for a $100 gift card to any local business of your choosing. Let’s get reading! Challenge ends on November 24.

Adult Programs

VIRTUAL Fiction Critique Group: Saturday, November 6, 9:15 am

Love writing fiction? Whether you are drafting a short story or a novel, joining our Critique Group is a great opportunity to meet other writers and get constructive feedback in a supportive environment. Open to all experience levels writing in all genres. Led by local writing enthusiast, Barbara Alevras.

INDOOR How to: Start Your Own Podcast: Tuesday, November 9, 7 pm

Have an idea for a podcast but don’t know how to get started? Join Lisa Kapala, podcast host at WCTV and former radio host, as she outlines the steps to create a successful podcast. Learn how to format your show, what programs to use, interview & talking tips, where to find music, and where to put it when it’s all done. You will leave with a clear idea of how to get your podcast idea off the ground. Ages 12+ & Adults

INDOOR Craft and Chat: Vintage Book Page Wreath: Wednesday, November 10, 7 pm

Learn to make a beautiful wreath out of cut pages from old books; supplies provided.  Led by Library Associate Kim Lambert.  Ages 16+

INDOOR Needleworkers: Friday, November 12, 10 am

This is a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy a little conversation and camaraderie—drop in. Everyone welcome!

Youth Programs

INDOOR Read to Thor: Tuesday, November 9, 5 pm – 6:15 pm

Come read to Thor, a beautiful dog who loves to listen to kids read! Sign up for one 15 minute session per reader.

OUTDOOR Scarecrow Contest: Saturday, November 13, 10 am – 4:30 pm

Register to build a scarecrow at the library with your whole family. We’ll provide bags, newspaper, and twine, and you bring any other accents you want to make your scarecrow stand out and be the best! Maybe add a hat, scarf, shirt, boots, a pumpkin, or even a haybale! Judges will choose their favorites and prizes will be awarded to the top 3. All Ages

A Note about storytimes:

Grab your jackets and your blankets to bundle up and get ready for some fun outdoor fall storytimes! Our storytimes include books, rhymes, music and movement.

In the event of inclement weather,  recent rain/snow causing the ground to be saturated, or temperatures under 55° or above 85°, storytime will move INDOORS.

OUTDOOR Drop-In Storytime: Friday, November 12, 10 am; Ages 2+

Book Store Next Store, 183 Middlesex Ave.
Open Wednesdays and Saturdays, 10am – 4pm
Shop discount books! Paperbacks for $1 and hardcovers for $2.
The Book Store is staffed by volunteers from the Friends of the Library and all proceeds help support library programs.

WML In-Person Programming

Registration is required for most in-person programs. If a program is outdoors and inclement weather is forecast, the program may be held virtually on Zoom or inside the library.  Please check out website on the day of the program to confirm location. Masks are required required inside Town buildings regardless of vaccination status.
