POLICE LOG for September 16: Caller Spots Bald Eagle On Their Mailbox; Syringes Found Behind Walgreens; Vehicle Stolen; Lawrence Man Arrested

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Thursday, September 16, 2021:
  • Police came across chairs, syringes, and a stuffed animal behind the vacant Walgreens on Main Street. Syringes retrieved for proper disposal. (2:27am)
  • Animal Control Office retried sick squirrel from Ledgewood Road and brought to rehab in Burlington. (1:16pm)
  • A Reading Avenue caller reported a bald eagle was on his mailbox. Bird was gone by the time Animal Control Officer responded. (1:17pm)
  • A walk-in party reported his vehicle was stolen 2 days ago from his Verdun Road property. Vehicle was found abandoned after a motor vehicle crash in Woburn. (2:48pm)
  • Police spoke with mother of juvenile riding his bike around while carrying an airsoft gun in Concord Street/Fordham Road area. (5:25pm)
  • Luis A. Torres (49, Lawrence) was arrested on a warrant. Torres was found during a check of the Walgreens property. (9:13pm)
