#1) LIBRARY EVENT: Neeldeworkers Meeting
Enjoy a social group for those who do any kind of needle craft. Bring your knitting, crocheting, quilting, etc. and enjoy a little conversation and camaraderie—drop in. Meeting begins at 10am. Everyone welcome!
#2) Masks Recommended Inside Wilmington Senior Center
A message from the Wilmington Health Department:
Due to the rise of COVID cases and the Delta Variant, the Public Health Director, the Public Health Nurse and the Town Manager recommend that masks must be worn at all times inside the Buzzell Senior Center regardless of vaccination status. This change [has taken affect] as of Monday August 30, 2021 Thank you. We are all in this together
#3) DEADLINE: Do You Want Your Street To Become An Accepted Way? Petitions Are Due To Town Hall TODAY
A legal notice from the Board of Selectmen:
The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Wilmington gives notice that all informal petitions for warrant articles for Acceptance of Streets by Betterment Plan, so called, in the Town of Wilmington for the 2022 Annual Town Meeting must be filed with the Town Clerk, Town Hall, Wilmington, no later than 4:30pm on September 3, 2021.
#4) Request A Free Mosquito Spraying For Your Street
Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project personnel will be in Wilmington to respond to residents’ concerns about mosquitoes in their area on September 9. Dates are tentative and subject to change due to weather conditions, mosquito populations, mosquito virus activity and/or special event spraying.
Requests for service may be recorded by calling the CMMCP office at 508-393-3055 between 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, or visiting www.cmmcp.org and clicking on “Service Request.” Results of these requests may initiate an application of mosquito insecticides to defined, site-specific areas of town. Such an application may be accomplished by using hand or truck mounted equipment, depending on the extent of the application.
#5) Town-Wide Yard Sale Deadline Is Approaching
The Wilmington Memorial Library is once again sponsoring a Town Wide Yard Sale on Saturday, September 18, 2021 for those wishing to hold a yard sale at their home and have the library advertise. The application fee is $15. Application deadline is Saturday, September 11, 2021. The fee includes yard sale signs, a listing on the yard sale map and lots of publicity. For shoppers, maps of yard sale locations will be available at the library and at Market Basket starting Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Participation in the yard sale is limited to the first 65 houses to sign up. Contact the library at 978-658-2967 to learn how to sign up.
