WILMINGTON, MA — In the latest episode of WCTV’s “Where’s Wilmington?,” host Lisa Kapala interviews Joe Martiniello, founder of the Wilmington-Billerica-Tewksbury Relay For Life.
Martiniello discusses this year’s 12th Annual Relay For Life event in Wilmington, which will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 3:30pm to 11pm, at the High School’s Alumni Stadium.
Martiniello and Kapala highlight some of the key changes to this year’s Relay, which was postponed from its usual Father’s Day weekend spot in June due to COVID-19. Chief among the changes is that the event will have no overnight campout component this year — participants will depart at 11pm.
Many of the event’s traditions will remain, including the Opening Ceremony, the Luminaria Ceremony, and the Spirit of Relay. As always, expect a lot of fun activities for all ages while raising funds to support the American Cancer Society.
