5 Things To Know In Wilmington On Wednesday, August 25, 2021

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Wednesday, August 25, 2021:

#1) Watch Wilmington School Committee Meeting

The Wilmington School Committee meets at 7pm in the High School’s Large Instruction Room. Read the agenda HERE. (An Executive Session precedes the meeting at 6:15pm.) Watch the meeting live on WCTV and wctv.org.

#2) Wilmington Food Pantry Is Open

The Wilmington Community Fund services a pantry supplying food products on a bimonthly basis to those in need. If you are experiencing food-insecurity and you need help you, are welcome. Shelves are stocked solely by community donations. Food items can be dropped in the marked bins at Market Basket and Lucci’s, as drop-off times on Saturdays are limited due to the Coronavirus.

If you are a Wilmington resident in need of assistance, please stop by the Food Pantry at 142 Chestnut Street (Old South School House) to fill out an application. Proof of residency (photo ID, pay stub or a current bill) is required. An interview for assistance will be conducted on-site.

In August, the Pantry is open for pick-ups on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, and Wednesday, August 25, 2021, from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. Registrants are welcome to use the pantry one time per month.

#3) LIBRARY EVENT: ‘The Woman Who Stole Vermeer’ with Anthony Amore

Join bestselling author Anthony Amore for a presentation on his new book, The Woman Who Stole Vermeer: The True Story of Rose Dugdale and the Russborough House Art Heist, at 7pm via Zoom. Learn more and register HERE.

#4) LIBRARY EVENT: OUTDOOR Well Read Wednesday Book Group

This book group, which meets at 10am, discusses contemporary books, both fiction and non-fiction, led by Library Director Tina Stewart. This month’s featured book is Black Buck by Mateo Askaripour. Copies of the book are available at the library. Will be held in the Peggy Kane Reading Garden or else indoors if inclement weather.

#5) LIBRARY EVENT: Drop-In Tech Help
