Below is an obituary from Nichols Funeral Home:
WILMINGTON, MA — To our family and friends we are sad to report the unexpected loss of our dearest Diane.
Diane (Leverone) Winchell was the daughter of Anthony and Margaret (Hennessy) Leverone of Wilmington. Though Tony and Peg are the foundation upon which our family was built, Diane was undoubtedly the glue that kept it together.
Diane lived a vibrant life that included traveling with her family, creating many beautiful handicrafts, and sharing her strong opinions about politics and current events. She dedicated the end of her life to ensuring her parents were able to spend their later years in the family home and that the whole family always felt welcome and loved.
Diane leaves behind her mother, daughter, three loving brothers; Frank, Stephen (wife Joan), and Andrew (wife Mary), and many nieces and nephews: Emily, Caitlyn, Joseph, Jenna, Stephen, Daniel, Susan, Jonathan, Josh, Marisa, Samantha, Nicholas, Elisa, Matthew, and J.J. Also deeply feeling Diane’s loss are John-Paul and Skylar McDonald.
Diane expects us to keep caring for each other. She showed us how to do it.
Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Sunday, August 8th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Diane’s Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, August 9th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main Street (Rte. 38), Wilmington, followed by her interment in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
