ROBERTSON: DESE Awards Tewksbury Schools An $87K Grant To Help Students Who Fell Behind During The Pandemic

Below is an announcement from the office of State Rep. Dave Robertson (D-Tewksbury):

BOSTON, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is to award the Tewksbury School System a grant of $87,000. Tewksbury Schools will use this grant for summer Acceleration Academies to help students who fell behind during the pandemic. These week-long academic programs are designed to accelerate student learning in the subjects of reading and mathematics. The DESE will also be providing additional support to the district with webinars and written documents on how to implement the Acceleration Academies effectively. The Early Literacy Program will be available for rising kindergartners, first graders, and second graders, while the Math program will be available for rising third graders, fourth graders, eighth graders, and tenth graders.
