WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Monday, July 5, 2021:

#1) Wilmington Residents Invited To Tewksbury Independence Day Celebration On July 5 (NEW DATE) With Fireworks Set For 9:30pm

The Tewksbury Independence Day Celebration will take place on Monday, July 5, 2021. (The Celebration was originally scheduled for Sunday, July 3, 2021, but postponed due to the rainy forecast.) The morning events will start at 8:30am at the Livingston Street Recreation Center and will continue through the day, concluding with a spectacular firework show scheduled at 9:30pm, weather-permitting.

The fireworks and all daytime events will be coordinated by the Tewksbury Patriotic Committee. See the celebration’s complete schedule below.

#2) Town Offices, Library, Senior Center Closed In Observance Of Independence Day

Non-essential town departments are CLOSED today in observance of Independence Day.

#3) Registration Now Open For Wilmington Vacation Bible Camp

The Wilmington 2021 Ecumenical Community Vacation Bible School is hosted by the Abundant Life Church of Wilmington.

All children who are 4 years old through those who have completed fifth grade at end of this school year are invited to join us for Vacation Bible School Monday, July 12th through Friday, July 16th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Cost per child is $35 with a $75 family maximum. Teens are welcome to volunteer; it is a great way to fulfill your high school service requirement.

#4) Registration Open For Wildcat Middle School Football Team

All Wilmington students in Grades 6-8 are eligible. The team will play 8 regular season games as part of the Eastern Mass Football League. The season begins on August 16, 2021. Registration costs $325. No refunds will be offered after June 28, 2021. Email joseph.m.mccauley5@gmail.com for registration information.

#5) Town Beach Is Open

Town Beach at Silver Lake is open for the 2021 beach season from Saturday, June 12, 2021 through Sunday, August 8, 2021, from 10am to 6pm daily.

Wilmington residents with proof of residency may use the beach at no charge. Acceptable forms of ID include a current Mass. Driver’s License with a Wilmington address, an RMV issued Mass. ID with a Wilmington addressor; and a Wilmington Public Schools ID.

Non-residents can purchase day passes at the Beach for $10 per person (ages 3 and up).
