Selectmen To Discuss Special Election To Fill O’Mahony Seat; Town’s New Open Space & Recreation Plan; Electric Vehicle Charging Stations & More At June 28 Meeting

WILMINGTON, MA — The Wilmington Board of Selectmen meets this Monday, June 28, 2021 at 7pm in Room 9 of Town Hall. An Executive Meeting

There are some noteworthy items on the agenda, including:

  • Selectmen will hear a presentation from Library Director Tina Stewart on the Library’s 150th Anniversary Celebration.
  • Selectmen will hear a presentation from Planning & Conservation Director Valerie Gingrich on the town’s new Open Space & Recreation Plan.
  • Selectmen will discuss two proposed electric vehicle charging stations with RMLD General Manager Coleen O’Brien.
  • Selectmen will receive a written update from Bylaw Review Committee Chair Robert Peterson Jr. regarding the status of re-codification of the town’s inhabitant bylaws.
  • Selectmen will receive a written update from Town Manager Jeff Hull regarding American Rescue Plan Act Funds.
  • Selectmen will consider calling a special election to fill the Board of Selectmen vacancy created by the resignation of Jomarie O’Mahony for a term to expire on April 29, 2023. Selectmen will also receive a written update from Town Clerk Christine Touma-Conway on the matter.
  • Selectmen will consider issuing automatic extensions to licensees licensed for on-premises consumption and granted approval for outdoor table service until April 1, 2022.
  • Selectmen will consider approving the sale of town-owned land on Lake Street (Map 55, Parcel 228A), Woburn Street (Map 46, Parcel 134A), and Aldrich Road (Map 9, Parcel 56). All were approved at Annual Town Meeting.
  • Selectmen will consider scheduling training from Town Counsel.
  • Selectmen will consider the request of RMLD to conduct an Electric Vehicle Car Show on Sunday, August 15, 2021, from 9am to 2pm, in conjunction with the Wilmington Farmers Market, next to the Swain Green.

An Executive Session precedes the meeting at 6:15pm.
