WILMINGTON, MA — Below are photos from the recent farewell reception for Rev. Phillip Early and Rev. Agustin Anda, courtesy of Wilmington Apple reader Lennie Malvone.
Father Early is retiring after 47 years in the ministry, while Father Anda is getting transferred to St. Theresa’s Church in North Reading. Early will be sticking around through the end of the month to help out while the Archdiocesan assigns a new priest to the church.
“I want to thank all those who made our farewell weekend celebrations possible,” wrote Early in this week’s church bulletin. “The celebrations at St. Dorothy’s and St. Thomas were wonderful. I deeply appreciate the time and effort it took to put the celebrations together. I also want to thank all those who attended the farewell celebrations and offered good wishes for my retirement. I am also deeply grateful for the many gifts I received. Your kindness and generosity were overwhelming.”
Early recently reflected on his long career in Wilmington and beyond through a podcast. Listen HERE: https://www.parishofthetransfiguration.org/media/1/Recording%20103420-051821.mp3.
