Wilmington School District Announces The Retirement Of 19 Teachers & Staff

WILMINGTON, MA — At their meeting last week, the Wilmington School Committee honored the district’s 19 staff members who are retiring at the end of the 2020-2021 school year.

  • Melissa Cahill — 35 years, current position: SPED Teacher at WMS
  • Lillian Hupper — 24 years, current position: 7th Grade Math Teacher at WMS
  • Carla Lynch — 13 years, current position: Educational Assistant at WMS
  • Stephen Lynch — 23 years, current position: Social Studies Teacher at WHS
  • Thomas MacCrate — 25 years, current position: School Psychologist at Woburn Street
  • Jacquie Raffi — 10 years, current position: Asst. Director of Administration & Finance
  • Neal Roberts — 34 years, current position: Art Teacher at WMS/Visual Arts Liaison
  • Dennis Shaw — 16 years, most recent position: Principal at the West
  • Mary Sullivan — 20 years, current position: Math Teacher at WHS
  • Cynthia Tsoukalas — 26 years, current position: Administrative Assistant at WHS
  • Eleanor Blake — 17 years, current position: TAP Aide at WHS
  • Karen Kichton — 22 years, current position: Food Services Worker at WHS
  • Patrice Lund — 26 years, current position: Grade 5 Teacher at the North
  • Shari Parker — 4 years, current position: Program Coordinator of CARES
  • Theresa Silva — 26 years, current position: Food Services Worker at the West
  • Mary Beth Smith — 32 years, current position: PreK Teacher at Boutwell
  • Karen Strazzere — 21 years, current position: 7th Grade Science Teacher at WMS
  • Karen Sweeney — 22 years, current position: Food Services Worker at the West
  • Kathryn Zaitz — 16 years, current position: SPED Teacher at WHS

Collectively, these retirees have a combined 412 years of dedicated service to the students of Wilmington!
