WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Sunday, May 23, 2021:

#1) WHS Lamplighters Drama Guild Presents ‘Seven Deadly Scenes’ Live On YouTube

The Wilmington High School Lamplighters Drama Guild is putting on a cabaret-styled production on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 6:00 pm at the Wilmington High School’s Joanne Benton Memorial Auditorium.

This performance features student direction, acting, and technical theatre. The cabaret features seven different scenes from a variety of different musicals and plays. Each scene represents one of the seven deadly sins, giving it the title “Seven Deadly Scenes.”

The event is being live-streamed on YouTube at 6pm and can be viewed HERE. Viewers can purchase a ticket HERE.

As per COVID-19 guidelines, students are staying socially distanced and wear masks throughout their performance.

#2) Wilmington Lacrosse Booster Club Raffling Off Solo Stove Bonfire Stainless Steel Smokeless Wood Burning Outdoor Fire Pit

The Lacrosse Booster Club is excited to launch our 2021 Season Fundraiser. This season we will be raffling off a Solo Stove Bonfire Stainless Steel Smokeless Wood Burning Outdoor Fire Pit (a $300 Value) with many extras included that are perfect for gathering around a fire pit.

Please see the attached the flier with all the details. Tickets may be purchased using our Venmo @Wilmington-Lacrosse for $10 per ticket. Feel free to purchase as many chances as you would like. Please include your telephone number with the Venmo so the Winner can be contacted following our Live Drawing on June 1, 2021 at 7pm.

All monies raised will go directly to the boys lacrosse team for expenses and resources not included in the athletic budget. The Booster Club recently purchased a FOGO head for the team thanks to our generous corporate sponsors.

#3) Registration Now Open For Wilmington Vacation Bible Camp

The Wilmington 2021 Ecumenical Community Vacation Bible School is hosted by the Abundant Life Church of Wilmington.

All children who are 4 years old through those who have completed fifth grade at end of this school year are invited to join us for Vacation Bible School Monday, July 12th through Friday, July 16th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Cost per child is $35 with a $75 family maximum. Teens are welcome to volunteer; it is a great way to fulfill your high school service requirement.

#4) Town Hiring Silver Lake Lifeguards For 2021 Town Beach Season 

The Town of Wilmington seeks talented individuals to join the summer Recreation Department team for the following positions. Employment application forms can be found on the town website at www.wilmingtonma.gov.

Silver Lake Lifeguards – approximately 25 – 35 hours per week

The Lifeguards perform lifesaving and first aid duties and ensure safety and comfort of beach patrons at all times.

The Beach would be open from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm from early July to mid-August. Lifeguards must be available weekdays and weekends.

Working under the direction and supervision of the Beach Supervisor, duties include, but are not limited to: lifeguard duty; facility maintenance; and enforcement of beach rules. May also include identification checks, gate attendance and collection of gate receipts.

Qualifications at time of application: Certified Lifeguard/Lifeguard Instructor with Waterfront Safety. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.

Hourly rate: $14.75
