#1) Dedication Ceremony For Edward J. Gillis Corner

Residents are invited to the dedication of Edward J. Gillis Corner, at Federal Street and Liberty Street, at 10am. Gillis, a longtime Wilmington resident, was a decorated World War II veteran who passed away in 2019.

#2) Wilmington United Methodist Church To Hold Curbside Pick-Up Pulled Pork Dinner

The Wilmington United Methodist Church (87 Church Street) is holding a Curbside Pickup Pulled Pork Dinner on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 6pm.

Enjoy a spring dinner, featuring slow roasted pulled pork, bbq sauce, slaw, mac-n-cheese, cornbread and dessert, all for a free will donation.

The dinner will be prepared in the church’s license kitchen, by a ServeSafe certified crew, following current COVID-19 virus safety guidelines.

All proceeds will benefit the church.

#3) LIBRARY EVENT: Planting An Herb Garden (Outdoor Event)

Plan to get your hands dirty! In this 10am workshop, you will plant a small herb garden using a selection of herbs, which can then be planted outdoors at the appropriate time in the spring. Local gardener and former Mahoney’s employee, Suzanne Crooker, will lead the workshop and share her knowledge of herbs and a few herb recipes as well. Herbs and pot provided. This program will take place in the back of the library at the picnic tables so is weather dependent. Rain date is Tuesday, May 25, 6:30 pm. Masks required. Register HERE.

#4) Book Store Next Door Is Open

The Friends of the Wilmington Memorial Library’s Book Store Next Door (183 Middlesex Avenue) is open from 10am to 4pm. In order to comply with social distancing protocols, the number of shoppers and shopping time will be limited. Donations are limited at this time to one bag per person.
