2021 Wildcat Summer Sports Clinics, Plus New Strength & Condition Program, Announced

WILMINGTON, MA — During the summer, the Wilmington High School Athletic Department will be sponsoring a series of sports clinics for children in Grades 1-8.

The clinics will be held at the Wilmington High School. 

All clinics will be run by WHS Coaches, Alumni and Athletes.

The cost of each clinic is $200 per child per clinic. (The first two clinics — Field Hockey & Boys Basketball — will be $175.) Additional clinic enrollment is discounted $25 per clinic.  (I.e. Siblings attending camps are $175 each; the next camp is $150 per child per clinic).

Here is the summer sports clinic schedule:

  • July 6 through July 9 — Field Hockey — WHS Turf
  • July 6 through July 9 — Boys Basketball — WHS Gym
  • July 12 through July 16 — Boys & Girls Soccer — WHS Turf
  • July 19 through July 23 — Tennis (Co-Ed) — WHS Courts
  • July 19 through July 23 — All Sports — WHS
  • July 26 through July 30 — Flag Football (Co-Ed) — WHS Turf
  • July 26 through July 30 — Volleyball (Co-Ed) — WHS Gym
  • August 2 through August 6 — Track & Field (Co-Ed) — WHS Track
  • August 2 through August 6 — Girls Basketball — WHS Gym

All clinics will run 9am to 2pm, Monday through Thursday, and 9am on Friday. Exception is the first two clinics will be 4 full days, Tuesday through Friday, due to the holiday.

The focus of each clinic is the development of skills through activity based drills and scrimmages. The ultimate goal of the clinics is to develop children who enjoy participating in athletics.

New This Year — Summer Strength & Conditioning Program

Wilmington Public Schools is also offering a summer strength & conditioning program for students (incoming 8th grade to 12th grade) on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays, from 7am to 8:30pm, July 5 through August 13, at Wilmington High School. The cost is $50 per week or $250 for the 6 weeks.

A large part of an athlete’s success during the season is a direct result of off-season training. Whether athletes participate in individual or team sports, off-season can help to improve athletic performance. This clinic will focus on three areas: strength, conditioning, and agility.
