5 Things To Know In Wilmington On Wednesday, May 5, 2021

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Wednesday, May 5, 2021:

#1) Watch Wilmington Town Hall/School Administration Building Committee Meeting

The Wilmington Town Hall/School Administration Building Committee meets at 6pm via Zoom. Read the agenda HERE.

#2) Watch Wilmington Conservation Commission Meeting

The Wilmington Conservation Commission meets at 7pm via zoom. Read the agenda HERE. Watch the meeting via WCTV or wctv.org.

#3) LIBRARY EVENT: Outdoor Time For Twos

This storytime for two year olds includes books, rhymes, music and movement. The program will be held behind the library next to the Peggy Kane Reading Garden. Please bring a blanket or low chairs. Masks are required for all attendees ages 5 and up and strongly encouraged for children ages 2-5. If inclement weather is forecast, the storytime may be held virtually ono Zoom. #4) LIBRARY EVENT: Tech Ted Talk — Is Surveillance Tech Weaponry?

Join technology librarian, Brad McKenna, to watch Sharon Weinberger’s talk “Inside the massive (and unregulated) world of surveillance tech”. Since we can’t all throw away our smartphones and live in caves, we’ll discuss how to live safely in light of what we learn. Register HERE.

#5) Wilmington Yardwaste Center Is Open

The Wilmington Yardwaste Center on Old Main Street is open from 8am to 2pm for the drop-off of leaves and brush.

Residents will need to purchase a punch-card for $15 in order to enter the yardwaste center. Punch-cards will be available for purchase through the Collector’s Office at Town Hall and will allow up to 5 vehicle trips to the yardwaste center per card. NO GRASS CLIPPINGS OR STUMPS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Commercial vehicles will not be allowed. Make sure to bring photo identification to show you are a Wilmington resident.
