POLICE LOG for April 23: Drug Arrest; Traffic Lights At 38/62 All Messed Up; Lawn Mower Fire

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are highlights from the Wilmington Police Log from Friday, April 23, 2021:
  • Nicholas Picanco (34, Brookline) was arrested for Possession Of A Class B Drug; Possession Of A Class E Drug; Negligent Operation Of A Motor Vehicle; Motor Vehicle Not Meeting RMV Safety Standards; & Motor Vehicle Lights Violation. A caller reported a male party appeared to be sleeping, possibly unresponsive, in his vehicle in UniFirst parking lot on Jonspin Road. Police response was delayed due to train. (8:45am)
  • A caller reported traffic light at Main Street and Church Street was facing the wrong direction. Westbound Route 38 and Westbound Route 62 are getting green lights at teh same time.  Mass Highway notified and gave a 2 hour ETA. Town Electrician responded and was able to temporarily fix situation. (12:24pm)
  • Police and Fire responded to possible broken gas line at Eco Labs on Ballardvale Street. (1:58pm)
  • A Gatehouse Lane caller reported a lawn mower started a fire in their front yard. Police responded and used fire extinguisher to extinguish fire. (2:35pm)
