LETTER: If You Watch The School Committee Meetings, You Know David Ragsdale Deserves To Be Re-Elected On April 24

Dear Editor,

I am writing to endorse David Ragsdale for a second term as a School Committee member. I know David; he is a genuine guy with three kids spread across multiple Wilmington Public Schools. He was my daughter’s soccer coach, and our kids are in Girl Scouts together. He is invested in this town and our kids’ success.

I am always so pleased to see David at school committee meetings as he seems to ask the questions that come to my mind as they discuss the agenda. He provides a concise amount of context in his suggestions that help me understand the constraints they are operating within. His diligent preparation for meetings, membership of numerous subcommittees, and rapport with fellow committee members show his dedication to our schools and his ability to collaborate with a team. His educational background and decade working for DESE provide him with insights that benefit our school committee as they navigate the ever-changing rules and guidelines around the pandemic, in addition to the normal policies and endeavors they oversee. The pandemic has increased the workload of our volunteer school committee ten-fold, and I am so happy David is willing to continue to rise to the challenge, working for the success of all of our students.

I will be voting for incumbent David Ragsdale for School Committee Member, and I encourage you to vote for him as well.

Thank you,

Jana Borgen

Mother of three Wilmington Public School students
