LETTER: Jim DeFeo Will Be A Strong Advocate & Voice For Our Kids; No-Nonsense Leader Who Displays Accountability & Transparency

Greetings all Wilmington voters,

My name is David Crowley. I am a father of 3 and I have been a Wilmington, MA resident for 20 years. I am submitting this letter of endorsement for Jim Defeo, who is running for election for a Wilmington School Committee seat this April 24th.

I have known Jim for many years and, not to take anything away from the incumbents, I believe people should strongly consider voting for Jim for a variety of reasons. First off, he is a leader and a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel who served our country proudly. He’s served on the Boston, MA Police force for a number of years as a sergeant, and also took on an additionally challenging role as a sexual assault detective.

He’s a no-nonsense father of four and has many years of experience observing the impact of educational policy decisions (sound or otherwise) on his own children to draw from. I believe Jim is the right candidate for a seat because he is someone that embraces difficult challenges and problems head on, with accountability, clarity and transparency, and seeks to accomplish the best outcomes overall. He’s willing to engage in difficult discussions in order to achieve such outcomes.

I believe that he’ll be a strong advocate, and voice for our kids moving forward. I believe that he will task people to really think through the impact and implications of decisions being considered, and what decisions will truly look like in practice not just in the short run, but in the long run as well.

One of the reasons that Jim, like myself, moved to Wilmington was for the school system. I believe if elected he will be an “impact player” day one and will help continue the improvements to our kids’ situations in the years to come.

Thank you, in advance for consideration of Jim Defeo for School Committee in 2021.
