Dear Wilmington Residents,
We have an opportunity on Saturday, April 24th to elect a new and worthy candidate, Melissa Plowman, to the Wilmington School Committee.
Recently I had the pleasure of getting to know Melissa as a person and as an active Wilmington resident. My interactions with Melissa have been positive and I have learned just how much Melissa values healthy, positive working relationships, the ability to listen as a critical skill in being an effective leader and the importance of being an assertive yet respectful communicator who fosters professionalism and collaboration. As an intelligent, hardworking team player, Melissa will truly be an asset to the Wilmington School Committee and to our community.
Melissa’s candidacy is focused on ensuring that every student within the Wilmington Public School system receives an exemplary education. If elected, I believe Melissa’s impressive professional experience will assist her in this regard as she has spent 18 years working in the field of child/adolescent psychology both in private practice and as a school consultant. During this time, Melissa has devoted her time to listening, understanding and helping many children and their families. Additionally, she has helped educators and school staff develop programs and professional training to help school districts develop and enhance the skills necessary to deal with all aspects of the social and emotional well-being of our children in today’s world. As we move towards and through a pandemic recovery, I believe Melissa’s professional experience is the experience we need right now as we continue to strive to improve and restore confidence in the overall Wilmington Public School experience for our students and their families.
If elected to the Wilmington School Committee, I believe Melissa will also continue to support a seamless K-12 educational experience for all students centered around quality learning for all ages and skill levels; driving high academic standards with proven results; providing industry leading technology within our schools; providing professional development for all teachers, administrators & staff; and engaging in strategic opportunities to partner with the Wilmington community and local businesses for the overall benefit of our school district. I truly believe Melissa Plowman will hit the ground running on day one and will be a great addition to the “Home Team”. In closing, please join me on Saturday, April 24th in voting to elect a very deserving candidate, Melissa Plowman, to the Wilmington School Committee. Melissa truly is the right choice!
