5 Things To Know In Wilmington On Monday, April 5, 2021

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Monday, April 5, 2021:

#1) Last Day To Register To Vote In Town Election & Town Meeting

The deadline to register to vote in the Annual Town Election and Annual Town Meeting is Monday, April 5, 2021. The Office of Town Clerk will remain open until 8:00 pm. Weather permitting, we will be conducting registration outside Town Hall near the front door. Alternative plans will be announced as the date draws closer if necessary. #2) Attend Wilmington School Committee’s Policy Subcommittee Meeting

The Wilmington School Committee’s Policy Subcommittee meets at 4pm in the High School’s Large Instruction Room. Read the agenda HERE.

Podcasting is so popular right now!  Whether you’re a producer, random listener, subscriber, or just want to learn what Podcasting is all about, WCTV is a great place to start! #4) Library Event: Why Native Plant Landscapes Matter

The Wilmington Memorial Library is presenting “Why Native Plant Landscapes Matter” at 2:30pm via Zoom. This program provides a comprehensive overview of native plants and their essential role in ecosystem health. Concepts covered include the co-evolution of plants and animals; the fundamental importance of native plants to a functioning food web; and the differences among native, naturalized, and invasive plants. Presenter Claudia Thompson, founder of Grow Native Massachusetts, will give a “tour” of her garden showing its steady transformation from a conventional urban yard to a landscape rich with native plant species and habitat for birds, butterflies, and wildlife. #5) Library Event: Introduction To Citizens Science Month

The Wilmington Memorial Library is presenting “Introduction To Citizens Science Month” at 6:30pm via Zoom. April is Citizen Science month! Come learn about all of the ways that you and your family can contribute to scientific research projects. Watch a short video, view our new Citizen Science kits and see projects that you can participate in involving field observation, data reporting, and other hands-on activities that can be done outside or inside to help real scientists with their research and accelerate discovery.
