WILMINGTON, MA — Fred W. Merten, age 81, a long-time resident of Wilmington, MA, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2021, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Fred was born on May 27, 1939, in Oranienburg, Germany; he was the cherished son of the late Karl and Luise (Friesecke) Merten.
Fred was the beloved husband of Karin (Dall) Merten of Wilmington, devoted father of Sonja Angel of Billerica and Tanya Merten of Haverhill, loving “Papa” of Katelin, Courtney and Ryan Angel.
Funeral Services for Fred will be private at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Nichols Funeral Home, Wilmington, MA.
