WILMINGTON, MA — Domenic J. Mastrangelo, age 72, of Wilmington, formerly of East Boston and the North End, passed away on February 27, 2021.
Domenic was born on April 30, 1948, in Foggia, Italy; he was the cherished son of the late Joseph and Carmela Mastrangleo. Domenic moved to the United States with his family at the age of six years old and they settled in the North End of Boston where he was raised and educated.
He married his “sweetheart” Geraldine Iacuzio on June 20, 1976; the couple moved to East Boston where they raised their son Domenic; he was his father’s pride and joy. Domenic and Geraldine resided in East Boston for many years before moving to Wilmington over fourteen years ago.
Domenic was a talented baker who worked at Modern Pastry in the North End for many years before he retired.
Domenic will be fondly remembered as a great guy; he was kind, caring, generous and loved to make people laugh and smile. He loved his family and friends with all his heart and they will miss him dearly.
Domenic was the beloved husband of Geraldine (Iacuzio) Mastrangelo, devoted father of Domenic A. Mastrangelo of Lowell, cherished son of the late Joseph and Carmela (Giodice) Mastrangelo, dear brother of Joseph Mastrangelo & his companion Patrice Moccia of Randolph, the late Anthony Mastrangelo & his wife Linda Mastrangelo of Chelsea, Teresa Giampaolo & her husband Robert of Everett and the late Lena Mastrangelo, brother-in-law of Judy & Frederick Cornetta of Burlington, the late MaryAnn & Joseph Contino and the late Gennaro Iacuzio & his wife Camille “Dolly” Iacuzio of East Boston. Domenic is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA on Thursday, March 4th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (Rte. 38), Wilmington, MA on Friday, March 5th at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Masks are required to be worn while in the Funeral Home and in Church.
