#1) Library Event: Irish Genealogy 101
The Wilmington Memorial Library is hosting a virtual Irish Genealogy 101 workshop at 2:30pm. Presenter Tom Toohey, former educator and genealogy researcher, will offer a step-by-step method for finding the home places of Irish ancestors. He will show techniques that are quick, cheap and easy that can be done from the comfort of your home. The lecture also contains music, animation, and video and is designed to be entertaining as well as informative. Geared for beginning and intermediate Irish genealogy researchers but all are welcome. This event is made possible through CARES Act funding to Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services as administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Register HERE.
#2) Buy A Raffle Ticket To Support The Wilmington Band Parents Association
The Wilmington Band Parents are running a TWO-MONTH CALENDAR RAFFLE starting on April 1, 2021 thru May 31, 2021.
Raffle tickets can be purchased via Venmo by simply sending to @WilmingtonBand-Parents or email the band parents at email@example.com.
Tickets cost 1 for $5 or 3 for $10.
The Two-Month Raffle Calendar is still being finalized, but should be ready early next week. Most days there will be two drawing for items valued at $15 or more with special drawings throughout the two months especially on Wacky Wednesdays with items valued at $50 to $200. The GRAND FINALE PRIZE drawn on May 31st is a custom handmade Cornhole Set.
It’s going to be fun and most of all, a great way for all of us to support the Wildcat Bands and the talented students who comprise it from Grade 4 thru 12! LET’S SUPPORT THE BEST BAND IN THE LAND! GO WILDCATS!
#3) Buy A Raffle Ticket To Support The Wilmington Boosters Association
The Wilmington Boosters Association is holding a Spring Raffle Fundraiser. The winner will receive $1,000 in cash. Tickets cost $50 each. Only 50 tickets will be sold. Tickets are available through March 3, 2021. To purchase tickets, Venmo @wilmingtonboosters. Proceeds will benefit the Boosters 2021 Student Athlete Scholarship Fund. The drawing will take place on March 10, 2021.
#4) WEF Is Always Looking For Your Unwanted Clothes, Shoes, Stuffed Animals & More
The Wilmington Educational Foundation has partnered with Baystate Textiles to raise funds through an ongoing textile recycling rebate program.
Bag up any of your unwanted footwear, clothing, accessories, linens and stuffed animals and place them in the donation boxes located outside each of Wilmington’s public schools. Donations can be in any condition as long as they’re clean and dry.
The Wilmington Educational Foundation will receive a rebate of $100 for every ton of textiles collected. WEF earns thousands of dollars each year from this fundraiser.

#5) Return Your Town Census If You Haven’t Already
Wilmington’s Annual Town Census will be mailed in the middle of January 2021. Please keep an eye open for it and respond immediately. Remember, responding to the annual town census keeps your name on the active voting list. Please contact the Town Clerk’s office if you have not received your census by the last week in January.
