RMLD Invites Customers To Air Source Heat Pump 101 Webinar On March 2

Below is a press release from the Reading Municipal Light Department (RMLD):

READING, MA — The Reading Municipal Light Department (RMLD) and its contractor, Abode Energy Management (Abode), are partnering to present an Air Source Heat Pump 101 webinar to RMLD customers on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 7:00 pm. The event is free, but those interested in attending are asked to register.

An Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) is an HVAC system powered by electricity that provides all-in-one heating and cooling. ASHPs offer many advantages over traditional oil, propane, and electric resistance systems including cost savings, improved efficiency, and reduced carbon emissions.

The webinar will cover how ASHPs work and their advantages; options for cold climate systems, available configurations, and keeping your existing system; RMLD’s per ton rebate, add-ons, and the rebate process; and additional informational resources. A question-and-answer session will close out the webinar. The session will be recorded and posted on RMLD’s website for those unable to attend live.

Increasing the adoption of ASHPs is an important component in RMLD’s ongoing electrification efforts, as well as overall carbon reduction efforts across the Commonwealth.

In 2020, RMLD revamped its ASHP rebate to be more financially beneficial to customers. Abode was also hired in 2020 to provide technical and educational assistance to customers and contractors throughout the shopping and installation process.
