WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Thursday, February 18, 2021:
#1) Library Event: Learn How To Hand Sew A Face Mask
Make your own two-layer cotton mask with teen volunteer Sreehitha from 6:30pm to 8pm via Zoom! Using this pattern, indicate which size mask you would like to make, and all materials, including precut fabric, a needle and thread, straight pins, elastic, and adhesive nose bridges will be provided. Sreehitha will demonstrate the running stitch, and several volunteers will be on hand if you need one-on-one sewing instruction in a breakout room.Participants will need to provide scissors. Grades 6+ & Adults.

(Call or text the number on the sign outside of the WML’s parking lot entrance when you arrive to pick up your Crafternoon kit. Curbside service is available to pick up your kit beginning the Saturday before the Crafternoon will take place until the Thursday afternoon of the Zoom tutorial. Curbside is available: Monday-Thursday, 10 am-6 pm & Friday-Saturday, 10 am-4 pm.)
This is an online event via Zoom. An invite will be sent two hours prior to the start of the program to the email given at registration. Please be sure to check your clutter/junk/spam boxes if the invite does not appear in your inbox, and do not use a school email address (@wpsk12.com) to register.
#2) Library Event: Kat & Brad Concert
The Wilmington Memorial Library & WCTV host Kat & Brad in concert from WCTV studios at 2:30pm. Brad Bensko on vocals and guitar and Kathleen Parks on vocals, violin, and mandolin bring you the sounds of 50’s & 60’s pop and American Songbook standards plus originals from their first LP of original material. #3) Library Event: Virtual Sea Lion Encounter at New England Aquarium
Join via Zoom marine mammal trainers in the New Balance Foundation Marine Mammal Center at the New England Aquarium for a training session with a California sea lion or northern fur sea at 4pml. Learn about how and why they train, and what you can do to protect the ocean environment for these amazing animals. Register HERE.
#4) Library Event: Novel Ideas Fiction Book Group
