To Whom It May Concern,
I, as a resident of Wilmington, was quite surprised to read the recent article in which our town manager spoke of the many departments in our community. My surprise was due to his failure to mention some of those in our front lines that serve the entire community. His lack of acknowledgement to those that place themselves in harms way to serve their community each day they report to work is a serious oversight. Our WFD went above and beyond as they always have for our community. The assistance provided to the nursing homes overrun with COVID positive patients, along with the various daily emergency and non emergency calls that are part of their duties require acknowledgement.
As a resident that observed the professionalism and compassion provided to my own friend and family members in extreme circumstances, I appreciate the profession! I am sorry for Mr. Hull that he does not take this department as worthy enough to acknowledge. May he and his loved ones never require the support or assistance of our WFD.
With Respect to all our healthcare providers,
Lisa Bozzella
