WILMINGTON, MA — The International Family Church, located at 99 Concord Street in North Reading, recently donated $40,000 to the Wilmington Public Schools.
“Our members are so happy to be able to contribute to the town in a way that would exchange the children’s learning at any level,” wrote Verna Del Turco, the Church’s Executive Director, in a letter written to Superintendent Dr. Glenn Brand. “During this year, that has been most difficult for so many, we feel so blessed to be able to contribute to the Wilmington Schools to say a big thank you to all those who take the education of our children so seriously. I can’t express how honored we are to be able to do this and hope to do more in the future.”
The church instructed Superintendent Brand to spend the money “where it’s most needed at this time.”
The Wilmington School Committee unanimously accepted the donation at its most recent meeting.
“Thank you very, very much,” added School Committee Chair Dr. Jennifer Bryson before the vote.
