LETTER: Wilmington Eagle Scout Completes Project By Making Outdoor Improvements To Wilmington Methodist Church; Thanks Volunteers, Donors & Dad

Dear Editor,

In September the fundraiser for my Eagle Service Project at the Wilmington United Methodist Church was mentioned in an article on the Apple, and recently, the project was completed.

Our troop has met at the church for over five years and my goal was to give back with this project. We laid new stone, mulch and replanted the garden removing dead plants and weeds. The railings to the stairs that head above the space were also scrubbed down and given a fresh coat of paint. The final addition, a 22-foot flagpole, was installed last week.

The space is looking great and is sure to be of use for future events and fundraisers, but this was only possible with help from the Scouts, past and present, of Troop 56 and my father, a fellow Eagle Scout. I would also like to thank the following businesses for their donations to this service project: Lynch Materials, D&D Mulch, O’Connor Ace Hardware, the Tewksbury Home Depot, McCue Garden Centers, and Mahoney Garden Centers.
