5 Things To Know In Wilmington On Wednesday, November 4, 2020

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 5 things to know in Wilmington on Wednesday, November 4, 2020:

#1) Town Yardwaste Center Is Open

The Town’s Yardwaste Center, located on Old Main Street, off of Main Street at the Woburn line, will be open today from 8am to 2pm. Wilmington residents only may use the center to drop off leaves and brush. In order to use the facility, residents must purchase a $15 punch card at the Treasurer/Collector’s Office at Town Hall. The card has no expiration date and is good for 5 visits to the facility. Residents will be asked to show the punch card an an ID at the entrance to the facility. No grass clippings may be disposed at the recycling center due to the odors they create. Stumps will not be accepted. #2) Watch Wilmington Conservation Commission Meeting

#3) Library Event: Dessert In A Mug With Julie

The Wilmington Memorial Library is holding ‘Dessert In A Mug With Julie’ on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 4pm for Grades 4+.

Make an individual serving-sized chocolate chip cookie along with Chef Julie! For this scratch cooking lesson, you’ll need a mug, a microwave, mixing bowls and spoons, and these ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp (pinch) salt
  • 1-2 tbsp chocolate chips 

This is an online event via Zoom. An invite will be sent at least an hour prior to the start of the program to the email given at registration. Please do not use a school email address (wpsk12.com). #4) Library Event: Time For Twos

The Wilmington Memorial Library is holding ‘Time For Twos’ on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 10am. This storytime for two year olds includes books, rhymes, music and movement. Zoom Meeting Room invitations will be emailed to registered attendees at least one hour before the event. Register HERE.

#5) Library Event: Intro To The Cloud

The Wilmington Memorial Library is “Intro To The Cloud” on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at 7pm. Learn about that mysterious Cloud. Technology Librarian Brad McKenna will discuss such cloud-based technologies as email, file storage, music/movie streaming, and more. This is an online event via Zoom. An invite will be sent at least thirty minutes prior to the start of the program to the email given at registration.
