Shawsheen Tech Receives $15K Donation & 9 Electronic Notepads From Billerica Tech Company E Ink

Below is a press release from Billerica-based E Ink:

BILLERICA, MA — 2020 has been a challenging year for educators as COVID-19 brought in-person instruction to a halt in the spring, forcing students and faculty to adapt to remote learning. Now, as a new school year begins and remote or hybrid learning models remain in place, schools must adapt to the ongoing obstacles these modes of learning bring.

For households unable to purchase the necessary technology to keep their students connected, this school year poses quite the challenge. Access to technology now determines students’ ability to receive the education they deserve, a problem that our team at E Ink wanted to help solve.

As an organization committed to supporting our local communities, we’re proud to share that we recently donated $15,000 to Shawsheen Valley Technical School, which is located near our Boston area office, to help ease the costs of remote learning. Additionally, we donated nine Sony Digital Paper devices, which utilize our E Ink digital paper technology, to school administrators for use as academic tools for students and teachers. We’ll continue these efforts elsewhere, donating $15,000 each to two additional school districts near our other US plants to help support their transition from in-person learning to hybrid and remote learning models.

E Ink is passionate about assisting our local communities year round, and during this pandemic, we’ve felt even more compelled to make a difference. We continue to look for new ways to help our communities during this tough time and are excited to continue lending a helping hand wherever we can.
