OBITUARY: Judith I. (Sumner) Foley, 78

WILMINGTON, MA — Judith I. Foley (Sumner), age 78, of Wilmington passed away peacefully on September 22nd surrounded by her loving family. Judy grew up in Woburn and was the cherished daughter of the late Albert and Marguerite (Nolan) Sumner.

Judy lived in Wilmington for 53 years where she adored spending time with her 6 children, 23 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Judy was the beloved mother of Stephen Foley & his wife Dorothy of Tewksbury, Marcia Vozzella & her husband Stephen, Donald Foley & his wife Catherine, Denise DePasquale & her husband the late Rocco, Diane Silva & her husband Ronald all of Wilmington, Timothy Foley & his wife Jennifer of Tewksbury and the late James “Jimmie” Foley. A loving “Nana” of Nicole Tranfaglia & her husband John, Jennifer Foley and her fiancé Alan Hunte Jr., Courtney Cavanaugh, Brittany Cavanaugh, Brian Cavanaugh, Caitlin Hubacz & her husband Lane, Shane Foley, Brendan Foley, Colin Foley and his fiancé Maria Cahill, Drew Foley, Quinton Foley, Molly Foley, Samantha DePasquale, Lauren DePasquale, Nicholas Silva, Danielle Silva, Timothy Foley and his wife April, Shyne Alive, Ashley Foley, Dylan Foley, Mackenzie Foley, Scarlet Foley, Sebastian Foley, great-grandmother of Siena, Finley, Adeline, Theo, Lily, Alana, Jemma, and Madelyn. Loving sister to Annette Coccoluto and her husband Frank, and pre-deceased by Frances MacLean and husband Duncan, Barbara Pendergast and her husband William, Elizabeth Byrnes and her husband Norman, Roger Sumner, and Marguerite Nichols and her husband Charles. Judy is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62) Wilmington, on Friday, September 25th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial for Judy will take place on Saturday, September 26th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (rte. 38) Wilmington. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Winchester. Masks are required to be worn in the Funeral Home as well as the Church.
