#1) Town Would Like To Cut Down Healthy Tree On Shawsheen Ave., Holding Public Hearing On August 21
NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING
Removal of Public Shade Trees
Town of Wilmington, Department of Public Works
Pursuant to Massachusetts General Law Chapter 87, Sections 3 and 4, a public hearing will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 530 Shawsheen Avenue and Harold Avenue, Wilmington, MA to consider the removal of the following public tree:
Species: White Oak — Diamater: 26″ — Location: In front of 530 Shawsheen Avenue
Masks are required for anyone who chooses to attend.
The tree identified above have been posted for public inspection.
Any objections to their removal must be submitted in writing for the Tree Warden, prior to or during the hearing. The mailing address for the Tree Warden is: Department of Public Works Tree Warden, 121 Glen Road, Wilmington, MA 01887. The Warden can be reached via phone at 978-658-4481.
#2) Donate To Wilmington Educational Foundation
The Wilmington Educational Foundation has partnered with Baystate Textiles to raise funds through an ongoing textile recycling rebate program.
Bag up any of your unwanted footwear, clothing, accessories, linens and stuffed animals and place them in the donation boxes located outside each of Wilmington’s public schools. Donations can be in any condition as long as they’re clean and dry.
The Wilmington Educational Foundation will receive a rebate of $100 for every ton of textiles collected. WEF earns thousands of dollars each year from this fundraiser.

#3) Donate To Beyond TOPS For Upcoming Yard Sale
Beyond Tops is scheduled to hold its Annual Yard Sale on Saturday, September 12, 2020, from 9am to 3pm, at 25 Marion Street in Wilmington.
All proceeds will benefit the popular 501c3 non-profit organization, which strives to integrate children with mental and physical disabilities into the Wilmington community through sports.
Organizers are looking to take and accept donations of all items (except TV’s, computers and stuffed animals). Any donation can be brought to 25 Marion Street (2nd Driveway). A pickup can be arranged by calling Mark and Kathy at 978-657-7723.
