3 Things To Know In Wilmington On Wednesday, August 19, 2020

WILMINGTON, MA — Below are 3 things to know in Wilmington on Wednesday, August 19, 2020:

#1) Non-Political Event To Show Support For Police Officers At Rotary Park

Wilmington residents will have another opportunity to show their support for the police at the “Blue Hour” event on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, from 7:30pm to 8:30pm, at Rotary Park, across from the Wilmington Public Safety Building.

The organizer, a Wilmington resident with ties to the policing community, has organized the event to allow residents to show support for law enforcement.

“Wear blue, bring a positive sign, and bring a flashlight. After sunset, we’ll light up the night in honor of all our hardworking police officers,” reads the announcement. “Remember to wear a mask and please practice social distancing.”

The organizer wants to make it clear that this event is NOT a political rally or protest, but rather an opportunity for families and individuals to unite in support of police officers. All are welcome.
