WILMINGTON, MA — Please be advised that the Wilmington Department of Public Works will begin resurfacing the Route 62 (Salem Street), from Woburn Street to the North Reading Line, tentatively planned for September 2020.
Once the date is locked in, an automated call will be placed to the neighborhood to alert residents and business owners.
Due to the narrow nature of the roadway and volume of traffic during daytime hours, this work is planned to be conducted at night between the hours of 9pm and 6am.
During operations, the roadway will be closed between Woburn Street and Route 28 / North Street in North Reading. Local residents will have access to their properties, although there may be short delays. The roadway is planned to be open during the day, in between night work. It is expected the work will take approximately 2 weeks to complete.
Traffic will be detoured using Andover Street in Wilmington to Route 125, which connects to Rte 28 on the Andover / North Reading town line.
Please obey the directives of police details, detour signs, and warning signs during all construction operations.
If you have any questions, or require additional information, please contact the Department of Public Works at 978-658-4481.
