#5) Keep Wilmington Beautiful — Walk With A Purpose
As part of the library’s Wilmington Earth Year initiative, library staff is encouraging everyone to help planet Earth by picking up litter as they walk. Swing by the library the week of July 13-18 (Monday-Thursday 10-7 and Friday-Saturday 10-4) and pick up a packet consisting of litter bag, gloves, and bonus items. Upon arrival, call the library and a staff member will place the items in the trunk of your car. Simply fill the bag as you walk Wilmington; feel free to share photos of your efforts by tagging the library. Many hands make light work and also make for a beautiful town. We ask that each family pick up one packet; additional litter bags and gloves can be provided upon request. Quantities are limited.
**As a bonus, you will receive a re-useable “unpaper” towel to use at home plus a box of baking soda and recipes for homemade cleaners and toiletries. Both help meet badge requirements on the Wilmington Earth Year Challenge. A big thank you to the Friends of the Library 2019 Annual Appeal for funding Wilmington Earth Year program
